This breathtaking display of the Northern Lights was captured on Senja Island, Norway. The person who filmed it said they had no intention to record this, but eventually did as the light show was so impressive.
The Northern Lights are also known as Aurora Borealis, which is the name given to the light displays that occur in the northern hemisphere. It is caused by electrically charged particles from the sun that collide with gases on the Earth’s atmosphere.
The auroras that occur in the southern hemisphere are called Southern Light or Aurora Australis.
